This a cute and short picture book. It is about a little girl counting down the days until she gets to meet her new little sister who is adopted. The little girl counts down the days in excitment and prepares for her new little sister. She watches her mother fly off to Korea to go get her new baby sister. She counts down the days and nights until her mother and new sister arrive back. During the time of waiting she prepares her room, tells her friends, and marks the calendar. This is a great book. I would use this book for students to just read. If I had a student who was going through the process of getting an adopted sister or brother, then I would recommend this book. We could use this book to learn about the adoption process and counting the number on the calendar. I would ask the kids how did they feel when they knew their little sister or brother was coming along or was going to come to their home. This is a great book!
